About the Middle East Hedge Funds Conference

In a region rich in High Net Worth Individuals, pension and insurance funds whose collective assets exceed trillions of dollars, it is puzzling to note that only recently have alternative investments sky rocketed. Nonetheless we are witnessing an era of unprecedented growth and interest in this vibrant and dynamic field. Where towering landscapes and infrastructure facilities expand quite literally in a matter of weeks, one can see that it is a stimulating area for investment. However there are many issues to be resolved. Alternative investments, hedge funds in particular, suffer from an undeserved reputation of being secretive, exclusive and opaque. Local firms who want to get in on the action may be puzzled and intimidated by the same and be repelled that such speculative behavior is forbidden in their cultural heritage. Furthermore, they may not be aware of the know -how of raising capital in a (relatively) new alternative investment environment.

The Middle East Hedge Funds Conference will confront the issues, shed light on any burning topics be they the recent sub- prime collapse and its effect on the Middle East, new sources of capital and the best tools to manage them, transparency issues and comparison of Dubai to other offshore locations. The best method of diversifying the investor’s portfolios by illuminating the different hedge fund management and investment styles . The assembled international panel of experts from across the globe include investors, managers , research heads and governmental bodies who are leaders in their chosen field.

Truly it is an opportunity that cannot be missed.
